MSME Promotion Council Chairman Dr. C Suresh has welcomed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s gesture of honor that the latter has extended towards the Tamil language and culture.
Expressing his love and affection for the language, PM Modi launched a translation of the Tamil classic ‘Thirukkural’ to Papua New Guinea’s Tok Pisin language on Monday.
The book, co-authored by linguist Subha Sasindran and Gov. Sasindran Muthuvel of PNG’s West New Britain Province, brings various aspects of Indian thought and culture closer to the people of Papua New Guinea. It also has a foreword by PNG Prime Minister, James Marape.
PM Modi, who has always made concerted efforts to connect with the people of Tamil Nadu and recognise their rich heritage, has complimented the authors on their efforts dedicated to the preservation of Indian cultural experiences and thought in Papua New Guinea. The MSME Promotion Council is also confident that this wonderful gesture from our Prime Minister will be yet another great achievement for the Indian government’s idea of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.” Thus, as we rediscover the age-old links between people in different parts of our country, we are sure to progress towards an incredible future of unity and brotherhood.
