MSME Promotion Council Vice Chairman Shri Dr. C. Suresh has welcomed the much-awaited Foreign Trade Policy from the Commerce Ministry under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal Ji, which broke the traditional Five-Year policy lasting term and adopted the ‘Long Term’ focus for the policy, giving a visionary initiative to our country.

MSME promotion council will initiate several programs to benefit the exporters present in the industry and also will initiate programs for spreading awareness about the new Foreign Trade Policy to various sectors of the industry where exports will give intensive growth to MSME’s.

India’s dynamic Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal Ji, has asked the Department of Commerce to take up a ‘massive focus concentrated’ approach and outreach globally in next 4-5 months sectorally as well as country wise through Indian mission abroad with special focus on Trade, Technology, Tourism and Investment.

MSME Promotion Council appreciated the salient features of new Foreign Trade Policy some of which are
Digitization of the applications pertaining to FTP, Automatic system-based approval of FTP applications,
Promoting trade in Indian Rupees, Introduction of provisions for merchanting trade, Special advance
authorization scheme extension to apparel and clothing, all these initiatives will boost the MSME’s to explore opportunities for exports and add value towards the vision of USD 5 trillion economy of India by 2024-25.
