Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has partnered with India’s Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in a three-year initiative to boost digital skills and entrepreneurship in India.
The partnership will provide free digital marketing courses to 1 million students and educators across the country, as well as support the development of entrepreneurship skills. Meta will partner with incubators and accelerators such as Sequoia Capital India, Accel Partners, and Blume Ventures to provide mentorship and funding to startups, and will work with the ministries to develop policies and regulations that support the growth of the startup ecosystem in India.
“This partnership with the Indian government is a testament to our commitment to helping people in India learn digital skills and build businesses,” said Nick Clegg, President of Global Affairs at Meta. “We believe that digital skills are essential for everyone to succeed in the 21st century economy, and we are excited to work with the government to make these skills more accessible to everyone.”
“This partnership will help us to achieve our goal of making India a hub for digital talent,” said Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. “We are grateful to Meta for their support in this important initiative.”
The partnership is expected to benefit millions of students and entrepreneurs across India. It is a significant step towards boosting digital skills and entrepreneurship in the country, and is a testament to the commitment of Meta and the Indian government to creating a more inclusive and prosperous future for all Indians.
