National Incubator Capacity Development Program — Boosting Indian Incubators: NICDP Program

New Delhi, August 31, 2023: Invest India, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and Villgro, a non-profit organisation, have announced the selection of 25 incubators for the National Incubator Capacity Development Program (NICDP).

The NICDP is a joint initiative of the government of India and Villgro to strengthen the capacity of incubators across the country. The program will provide three months of mentorship, advisory and capacity-building support to the selected incubators.

The selected incubators are from across India, including tier-2 and tier-3 cities. They represent a diverse range of sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, education, clean energy and technology.

The NICDP is part of the government’s efforts to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in India. The program aims to help incubators develop world-class infrastructure, provide high-quality mentorship and advisory services, and create a vibrant startup ecosystem.

MSME Welcomes National Incubator Capacity Development Program

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Promotion Council has welcomed the National Incubator Capacity Development Program (NICDP) launched by Invest India, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and Villgro.

The MSME Promotion Council said that the NICDP is a welcome initiative that will help to strengthen the startup ecosystem in India. The program will provide incubators with the skills and knowledge they need to support entrepreneurs and help them to grow their businesses.

The NICDP is expected to benefit over 100 incubators across India. The program will be implemented in two phases, with the first phase starting in September 2023.

The MSME Promotion Council has urged all incubators in India to apply for the NICDP. The program will provide incubators with the resources they need to support entrepreneurs and help them to grow their businesses.
