The MSME Promotion Council has welcomed the speech by Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcing two new schemes, Vishwakarma Yojana and Lakhpati Didi Scheme.

In his speech, PM Modi said that Vishwakarma Yojana will provide financial assistance to micro and small enterprises in the manufacturing sector. The scheme will also provide training and skill development to the youth.

The Lakhpati Didi Scheme is aimed at empowering rural women. Under the scheme, rural women will be provided with financial assistance to start their own businesses.

Dr. C Suresh Kumar, vice chairman of the MSME Promotion Council, said that these schemes are a “need of the hour” and will go a long way in creating employment and empowering rural India, especially rural women.

He said that the Vishwakarma Yojana will help to boost the manufacturing sector, which is the backbone of the Indian economy. The Lakhpati Didi Scheme, he said, will help to empower rural women and make them self-reliant.

The MSME Promotion Council has urged the government to implement these schemes in a timely manner and to ensure that they reach the intended beneficiaries.

The council has also suggested that the government should provide additional incentives to micro and small enterprises to encourage them to adopt new technologies and to expand their businesses.
